Blazer Jobs is currently seeking a passionate and experienced Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join a supportive and inclusive school district in Kansas City, Kansas, for the 20252026 school year. This is a full-time, school-based opportunity offering stability, growth, and the chance to make a lasting impact in the lives of students.
As a COTA in this role, you will collaborate closely with licensed Occupational Therapists, special education teams, and families to help students develop essential life and learning skills. Youll play a vital role in improving fine motor coordination, sensory processing, and daily living activities, ensuring every student can participate confidently in their educational journey.
Role Responsibilities

Deliver occupational therapy services under the direction of a supervising Occupational Therapist.

Support the implementation of IEP goals through individualized and group interventions.

Monitor student progress and maintain timely, accurate documentation.

Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop classroom adaptations that support student independence.

Participate in IEP meetings, therapy consultations, and interdisciplinary planning sessions.

Qualifications

Active Kansas COTA license.

Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

NBCOT certification preferred.

School-based or pediatric experience is an advantage.

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with a student-first mindset.
